Citadium Floor Supervisor

Floor supervisor

21 years with Printemps

"Passionate about all things sports, I entered a world I barely knew"

"I studied Economics at university but soon felt my true calling was to be out in the field. I started out as a salesman at Made In Sport, a former branch of Printemps Group. I was quickly appointed to Assistant Manager, before becoming the Store Manager at the Aulnay-Sous-Bois branch. The company itself specialised in football and we developed the first ever franchise partnership with PSG (Paris Saint-Germain). I really loved this project! Later, I joined Citadium Caumartin’s team as Sales Animator. Passionate about all things sports, I entered a world I barely knew. I relied on my sales knowledge and soon developed my own product expertise. One year after my arrival, the position of Floor Supervisor was created to serve as an intermediary between the sales teams and the Area Manager."

"The Floor Supervisor is a manager, a conduit and a correspondent for brands"

"The Floor Supervisor is in charge of schedule planning, team training, sales coaching, and helps employees with their own professional aspirations within the Group. Depending on the organisation of the stalls, the job can lean more towards being a manager, or sales consultant, or even both! The role also means being a correspondent for the brands, which in turn builds bridges between them and the management.

The Floor Supervisor is also in charge of the management of their section and for compliance with internal procedures. Part of their mission is to prevent theft. One has to be proactive and a source of suggestions to the Area Manager."

"I witnessed a marriage proposal!"

"When I was working on the third floor, I was a witness to a marriage proposal. A couple showed up to buy a pair of sneakers. When they arrived at the checkout, the man whispered something in his girlfriend’s ear and handed her a ring. It was quite unexpected."

"Citadium in a nutshell: capture the spirit of the age"

"What I like about this brand is that everything is constantly changing—new brands come in regularly, teams evolve, we organise events, stage and re-stage the spaces—that could turn out to be exhausting, but it’s actually really exciting!"

"My advice is to enjoy being in the field and keep your ears open"

"My role is to act as an intermediary between the sales teams and the Area Manager. The added value of a Floor Supervisor is being able to see what the Area Managers don’t. Each day I witness the challenges faced by the employees and brand ambassadors. I know my team well and we have created a relationship of trust."
